I am eight and a half years old. I have never been so hot as I am this summer! Luckily, we coloured guys don’t seem to suffer from the horse flies quite as much as our friends, but the heat can burn our pink noses, so we have to take care.

Plenty of water and shade are what we need. We all drink several times as much as usual when it’s like this – and the water has to be really cold to do the job! I hope that everyone out there is making sure that their ponies and horses have a constant supply.

My friends Bill and Ben like to play in the stream when they can and today, but today Bill and I are having a day in a lovely cool shed. We will go out again at about 6pm tonight when the heat goes out of the sun.
